Hello, friends, and Happy Spring Equinox! (Or Autumn Equinox, if you’re reading this from the Southern Hemisphere.)
I promised two weeks ago that sign ups for Rose & Mirror would begin…last week, but here we are today. If you were wondering what happened, thank you for your patience!
Next week’s newsletter will share some spring goodness. Oh, and there is some at the end of this newsletter, too.
I’ve been trying to figure out format for the course, plus finalizing the content. In the process I realized I was trying to cram too much into Rose & Mirror.
So I transformed my fairy tale course into two.
The one coming up in April is created especially for writers: Twice Told.
Here’s the TL:DR version, plus more info below:
Why split the course into two?
If the meandering rationalizations on this topic don’t interest you, feel free to skip this section.
Still here? Ok. :)
First, I realized that combining the meaning-making and writing elements into R&M would take me too long to complete. In ADHD land, this means I’d most likely lose steam and put off the project much longer than desired. I announced the project back in October, for Pete’s sake. It is so much material and it deserves to be done well. I wanted to keep with the self-integration theme, similar to how Dr. Pinkola-Estés shares stories in Women Who Run with the Wolves. Developing the writing application into a different course made sense to me.
Secondly, I wasn’t sure about format. I’m getting acquainted with a couple of platforms that allow for self-paced courses, and while I think I found the one I want to use, I still have to figure out all the little details. That will be worth it if it allows folks to start the course whenever they want and allows me to be more hands-off, so the course does its own work.
Twice Told will be similar to Follow The Deer, without the personalization but with more downloads. I so enjoyed Follow the Deer and it seemed like a great format to revisit. I do enjoy that participants are only an email away.
Is there a refund policy?
Hello again! I’m glad you’re back! And yes there is.
Refund policy: If a participant withdraws through email notification at least five days prior to the start of the course, in this case, April 9th, they will receive a full refund.
Additionally, I’m offering participants an option to receive feedback on the characters, story flow, and clarity of a short story (8k or under) of their choice for $25.
Sign-ups will end April 11th. I will be sharing a bit more about this course in the weeks to come.

In Otherworldly news…
The Otherworld, a fairy tale and folklore magazine by Jess Lynn and myself, sends its Spring Equinox post soon. I had hoped for it to be this morning, but I’d rather it be late and heartfelt than rushed and on time.
It includes an interest form for those wishing to be published in our Autumn Equinox publication!
Have you visited The Otherworld yet?
Also, feel free to check out the interest form.
We hope to see you there!
Or, if you can’t afford $5 a month, how about a tip?

Thanks for reading, friends.
Meet you over the orchard wall.*
*One of my wonderful early readers for my book started signing her emails like this. I like it.
Thanks for being here. My AuDHD brain is a bit scattered and prone to change things last minute, but here in The Purple Vale you can count on reflections on folklore, fairy tales, and the seasons from my little corner of East Tennessee–which is unceded Cherokee and Muscogee land.
