Hi friends! Double Alchemy is now available for preorder. Woop woop!
The ebook is $1.99 until publication on February 9th.
The paperback will be available, too. I’m still waiting for my author copy to check for errors. As with the ebooks, you’ll be able to buy your copy from a variety of online stores. Plus, in the next couple of months, I’ll have a limited number of copies that Stateside friends can purchase directly from me. (I actually make more money this way and the price doesn’t change for you.)
Preorders are a super important time for indie authors. They go a long way in getting our books noticed by potential readers.
The links are below. Keep reading for an excerpt from the first chapter of Double Alchemy.
from Chapter 1: The Fey Graveyard
A fey kingdom dwelt in these woods once, or so the story goes. Now there is nothing but a graveyard swathed in shadow and moss.
I had only been there once before. Despite the years between tonight and my last enterprise, I found my way easily when the clouds parted to reveal a waxing moon above. Anyone could find the trail leading in, but getting out would be difficult. After a few minutes’ walk, I had to rely on landmarks: turn left at the lone, twisted oak, go past the fallen log now lost beneath a rippling blanket of fungi that glowed in the night. Fear and anticipation quickened my heartbeat.
The only jewelry I retained was a slim, gold ring my mother had left me, and I would never sell it. This left me with precious few options for raising income. Stories about the graveyard were as varied and contradictory as local gossip. It was said to be a place of forgotten treasures, if one could get past the spirits that haunted the place. Untold riches lay buried with their dead, left undisturbed by the wise and wary. Apparently I was neither. But I was desperate to test this particular tale. And I needed jewels in order to perform the magic my family preferred to ignore.
